“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” - Gal 5:16 (KJV)
This command by the Apostle Paul is a command that involves the choice of every believer. Remember the day that you accepted Christ? You had no pride, you were weak, and you were humble. You put your full confidence in Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness, cleansing, and strength. You know this was the case because he gave you his Holy Spirit when you were at your weakest. Return to this mindset and place Jesus above all your trials & temptations and he will be your strength.
When we do not trust in our own strength but his, we are walking “in the Spirit.”
This requires a choice on our part to fix our eyes on Jesus for the grace we need in every situation.
“For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end”; - Hebrews 3:14 (KJV)
May we choose to “walk by the Spirit” moment by moment.
God bless, Orval
